Yoga and Thai Massage have been part of my life for more than 40 years. During the more turbulent phases of my life, they have always been places I could return to — spaces of grounding, connection and renewal. Having lived in different parts of the world and experienced different cultures and languages, I have developed a deep appreciation for the many ways in which people experience and understand life.
I live in the Grisons in Switzerland, surrounded by mountains, and feel a special connection to this part of the world — a connection I share with Thomas. His own journey through Thailand and India eventually led him to meet Poonam, who later came to Switzerland. In this way, paths that began in very different places eventually came together here through Sanapurna.
I feel deeply grateful to Poonam and Thomas for opening a door for me that I was ready to walk through. What began as a yoga teacher training has grown into something much more meaningful, and I am honoured and joyful to now be part of the Sanapurna alumni community and its unfolding. And perhaps it is fitting that, in the photograph from our graduation, I am holding a sunflower — a small symbol of the warmth, growth and light that this journey has brought into my life.
